About Me

Hi, my name is Adele and I love all things vintage.

Thanks for visiting my vintage blog, I hope you enjoy browsing through the posts and photos and I hope you find some inspiration for your home, wedding or craft project. I love finding beautiful vintage themed photos and ideas and visiting antiques shops and vintage clothes shops in my spare time.

I have recently become a new mum to baby Lucy (hence blog title) and I am loving all the beautiful vintage style baby clothes and accessories you can now buy or make! As I am now enjoying my maternity leave I thought I would have a go at setting up my own blog about my obsession with vintage style.

My obsession began when I was planning our wedding back in 2012. I spent many hours trawling through wedding magazines and visiting local wedding fairs to get ideas and came across the vintage theme. This included, pretty bunting, lace detail, birdcages, lanterns, beautiful glass jars and candles, cottage garden flowers and old photos of my own grandma and granddad on their wedding days. I thoroughly enjoyed organising our special day.

In 2013 we moved house and we brought a 1930's style house which needed a lot of work!! Pretty much, the whole house needed renovating and so we or (my husband) set to work. We both love houses with character and wanted to keep as many of the original features as possible. In the process of doing up our house I have been able to purchase several vintage pieces of furniture and accessories some from local charity shops and we even acquired a beautiful mirrored wardrobe from a skip!! The house is an on-going project and so I continue to look for inspiration and beautiful objects to fill it with!

More recently, I have had a go at up-cycling furniture and making vintage crafts and clothes, although I am still very much a beginner! Having been an Early Years teacher for 14 years now I do love making things even if they don't always go to plan! I would like to think I was creative and resourceful using materials that I have handy to make lovely things, so I hope you will enjoy following my blog and  maybe share some of your ideas with me.

Thanks,
